South Facing Garden
South Facing Garden
This is the most mature area of the garden,
created in 1984. However, as with other parts of the garden
it is constantly evolving and in 2008 a new link to
the Woodland Garden was
created. More recently, in 2009, new steps from the terrace were added.
Mature trees, Rosa rugosa, scented Philadelphus sp. provide
structure and year round colour and interest in the borders
surrounding the lawn in front of the house. These are under
planted with many sub-shrubs and herbaceous perennials.
The terrace includes sun-loving plants and a number of original
stone troughs planted with alpines.
