Woodland Garden
The Woodland Garden was designed
at the end of 2006 and continues to evolve as it matures. Woodland shrubs, under planted with spring
flowering perennials such as Geum, Bergenia, Silene and Helleborus
sp. will create a longer season of interest and provide all
important protection for the rest of the garden from the west
wind.
The Woodland Walk allows the visitor to meander
around the gardens, linking the Walled
Garden, and the South
Facing Garden with the Wildflower
Meadow. Many specimen trees suitable for chalk soils,
are planted throughout the woodland walk including Sorbus
vilmorinii, Betula utilis "Jacquemontii", and
Acer davidii.
